They did the fitting and shipped it back to me FOR FREE!Ĭall Taylors and ask if they still provide this service. Total Cost for the custom fitting: $00.00! All I did was pay to send the gun to Taylor's and pay for the cylinder. When finished, Taylors sent my revolver back to me with the C&B cylinder in place, and the conversion cylinder was packed separately in a small box in the same package. He also trimmed the face of the cylinder back a bit so it fit into the frame with the proper barrel/cylinder gap. He had a fixture that would index off the cylinder cuts on my original C&B cylinder, cutting new ones into the conversion cylinder at exactly the right spot so it would index properly in my gun. He took an unfinished Pietta conversion cylinder, meaning it was in the white and had not yet had the locking slots that the bolt engages cut into it. I had a couple of conversations with the gunsmith at Taylors. A local dealer who stocked R&D conversion cylinders was not sure which cylinder it would take, so he advised me to send the gun to Taylor's which I did. A few years ago I became interested in buying a 45 Colt conversion cylinder for it. ![]() ![]() I have a EuroArms 1858 Remmie (actually made by Armi San Paolo) that I bought brand new in 1975. The R&D cylinder for the Uberti is too big for a EuroArms Remmie
